Care About Childcare Grants
This grant is for licensed programs that achieve quality criteria for the first time on the Care About Childcare website. Grant amounts vary according to the number of criteria achieved, licensed capacity and care type.
Eligibility:
Child Care programs that have been licensed for 6 months or longer. Programs that are in substantial compliance with licensing (no civil money penalties or current issuance of a conditional license). Programs that have not previously received a CAC Welcome Grant.
This grant reimburses licensed Family/Home Providers for initial start up costs directly related to becoming licensed. Costs typically reimbursed include fees for business license, inspections, first aid/cpr, smoke detectors, training, etc.
Eligibilty:
Programs licensed within the previous 12 months as Family/Home providers. There is a limit of two start up grants per lifetime.
The program coach materials grant is available to licensed Centers and licensed Family providers that choose to work with a program coach (PC). PC services are available through your local Care About Childcare Agency, PC’s can spend up to 30 hours in your program to help you reach mutually established quality improvement goals. Goals are derived from the Care About Childcare criteria. PC’s can assist you with curriculum ideas, room arrangement, learning centers, demonstrating developmentally appropriate activities with the children and much more. After receiving 20-30 hours of onsite coaching and completing a 10 hour training or homework assignment programs will receive a materials grant worth $400. Please contact your local Care About Childcare agency for additional information and to schedule coaching sessions.
